Xtra has made a number of changes to the format of our bill. The main difference you will notice is there is now a more detailed breakdown of your Xtra charges. This should enable you to get a better understanding of exactly what Internet charges you are being billed for. For specific examples of what the new format will look like click here.

Summary of changes

So, exactly what changes are happening and how will they affect me?

The permanent changes are:

  1. Charges will be broken down into four sections:

    • Non monthly charges - any one off charges such as registration fees
    • Monthly charges - any recurring charges such as Flat Rate access fees
    • Usage charges - any dial-up access charges
    • Adjustments - any adjustments that need to be made to your bill

  2. Recurring charges will show a charge period.

  3. There will be a more detailed breakdown of charges.

  4. The total number of dial up sessions will be displayed (and the total quantity used will be shown in hours or megabytes as appropriate).

  5. Prepaid plans (Flat Rate Plan and Advanced Plans) will be charged as follows, monthly fee, number of hours used and then the prepaid hours will be credited. All calculations will be made at $2.22 (excl GST) an hour. Click here to view a Flat Rate example, click here to view an Advance Plan example.

  6. Charges will be split according to login ID/user ID. This means you will be able to determine who has used your account over the billing period, and how much has been charged. This will be particularly helpful for those customers with multiple users on one account, making it easy to reconcile usage.

  7. Customers taking up our Friend Get Friend offer will now get a unit credit of 50 free hours with a 30 day expiry rather than a $20 credit. Flat Rate customers will continue to get a $20 credit. To find out more about this offer click here.

  8. XtraNet customers can new reactivate previously deactivated customers.

Temporary changes are:

  1. Any monetary adjustments made from 08 June 2000 will appear on Telecom page of the invoice, not Xtra page.

  2. Up until the end of the first week of July, when a customer changes or ends a prepaid plan (Advance or Flat Rate plan):
